SUSTAINABILITY

Our commitment to sustainability and industrial decarbonization

A concrete path toward a low-carbon future

Since 2023, Pi-Zeta di Poli Renato e C. Snc has embarked on a structured journey to measure and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in compliance with the ISO 14064-1 standard.

This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the ecological transition and communicating environmental performance transparently to clients and stakeholders. The analysis includes all emission categories – Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 – with 2023 as the baseline year, a comparison with 2024, and a decarbonization roadmap through 2030.

Emissions analysis: results and trends

In 2024, total emissions slightly increased compared to 2023 (+9.2 t CO₂e), while direct emissions (Scope 1) decreased by 31%, confirming the effectiveness of the first energy efficiency actions.
The growth in Scope 3 emissions, related to the purchase of goods and raw materials, highlights the need to engage the supply chain in reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Focus on emission scopes

Scope 1 – Direct Emissions

Reduced from 63.50 to 43.80 t CO₂e (–31%) thanks to more efficient LPG management and fleet optimization.
Next steps: transition to electric vehicles, improved building insulation, and monitoring of fugitive refrigerant emissions.

Scope 2 – Purchased Electricity

Emissions remained stable (–1.8%), with potential reductions achievable through renewable electricity supply and on-site photovoltaic systems.

Scope 3 – Indirect Emissions

The largest emission category, primarily linked to steel purchases (+11%).
Pi-Zeta’s strategy focuses on collaborating with sustainable suppliers, prioritizing recycled and low-carbon materials and implementing green procurement policies.

Decarbonization plan 2025–2030

Pi-Zeta’s GHG reduction plan aligns with the European Green Deal and international climate neutrality objectives. 2030 Target: –45% CO₂e emissions compared to 2023, equal to 301 t CO₂e/year.
